Cassava bagasse is a by-product of the processing of tapioca starch from cassava roots. When using cassava residue should be mixed and fed with urea or soybean residue.
Steps of cassava pulp drying process:
1. Firstly, after separating the flour, the cassava bagasse is put into the storage tank through a conveying system. It is mixed with water to dilute and loosen. The residue is removed from the fibrous component, the peel, and the impurities.
2. Next, the cassava bagasse from the storage tank is transferred to the water separator press. Here the residue is dewatered and the moisture content in the residue is reduced from 80-90% to 58-62%. The separated water is allowed to flow through a trough into the recovery tank, in the tank, the starch is settled.
3. After dewatering, the bagasse is conveyed by conveyor to the drying area. The cassava bagasse is crushed and sprayed directly into the dryer.
4. Finally, the cassava bagasse is dried. The heat supplied to the drying tank can be by gas, the moisture in the residue is exchanged through the movement in the drying barrel. The product is further put into the cooler, bagged and transported to the warehouse.
